Isobel is an incoming articling student with a passion for helping others and a keen interest in advocacy.
- Academic Excellence: Isobel is a Juris Doctor candidate at the Peter A. Allard School of Law and a graduate of Queen’s University, where she completed an Honours B.A. in History with the highest standing in her program. She is the recipient of numerous academic awards recognizing excellence in research and scholarship.
- Client-Focused & Trauma Informed Advocacy: Through her work at Rise Women’s Legal Centre, Isobel has developed strong skills in trauma-informed and culturally competent legal practice, assisting clients in family law matters and drafting a wide range of court materials.
- Institutional Leadership: As Academic Director of the UBC Law Students’ Society and former Vice President (External) within the Allard Law Women’s Caucus, Isobel has played an active role in student governance and professional engagement. She has represented student interests at faculty-level meetings while also developing and maintaining relationships with law firms and community partners, strengthening connections between students and the practicing bar
- Complex Critical Analysis: Over the past two years, Isobel has tutored and instructed students preparing for the LSAT, including teaching Allard’s Summer Preparation Course for Black and Indigenous students. She designed and delivered an advanced logical reasoning curriculum, helping aspiring law students develop analytical precision, structured thinking, and confidence in their abilities.
- Commitment to Access to Justice: Isobel’s experience with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Canadian Mental Health Association reflects her dedication to improving access to legal information and protecting the rights of vulnerable individuals.

Isobel is an incoming articling student at the firm and a Juris Doctor candidate at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She previously earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History from Queen’s University, graduating with the highest standing in her program and receiving multiple awards for academic excellence and research achievement.
Isobel gained practical legal experience at Rise Women’s Legal Centre, where she assisted clients in family law matters and developed strong skills in trauma-informed and culturally competent advocacy through extensive training. She drafted affidavits, notices of family claim, desk order divorces, and other litigation materials while managing client files in high-emotion circumstances with professionalism and care. Through Pro Bono Students Canada, Isobel conducted administrative law research to support the development of British Columbia’s Independent Rights Advice Service for individuals detained under the Mental Health Act, reinforcing her commitment to access to justice and principled legal advocacy.
For the past two years, Isobel has tutored students preparing for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), developing curriculum focused on logical reasoning and argument analysis. Within the law school community, Isobel has held leadership roles including Academic Director of the UBC Law Students’ Society and Vice President External Relations for the Allard Law Women’s Caucus, reflecting her commitment to advocacy and community engagement that she brings to her articling role at the firm.
Isobel’s passion for law is grounded in a genuine desire to assist people during periods of uncertainty and vulnerability. She is particularly interested in family and criminal law, reflecting a dedication to representing clients with both strategic precision and compassion during complex and high-stakes legal proceedings.
